RashaunNo one can put together a shirt-and-sock combination like Rashaun Council, a stylish student at CLE Costa Mesa.

Warm, funny and hard-working, Rashaun blows us away with his dedication and motivation. He has traumatic brain injury (TBI) and works closely with our team to receive the support he needs to succeed academically. Rashaun recently earned his associate degree and is currently thriving during his first semester at Cal State Fullerton. Our team could not be prouder of him.

Between completing schoolwork and organizing his own transportation, Rashaun took a minute to chat with us about his CLE experience:

Q&A

CLE: How do you feel starting your first semester at Cal State?

Rashaun: I feel very optimistic and prepared for this semester. I hope I do very well and will do my best to stay on top of all my assignments and be present in my courses. I feel more confident in myself to strive for my goals this year.

CLE: You have a lot to be proud of. Is there something about your college career or time at CLE that you’re most proud of?

Rashaun: Having achieved my associate degree in liberal arts—and soon obtaining my bachelor’s degree in fine arts at Cal State Fullerton—makes me proud.

CLE: What is something you learned at CLE that’s important in helping achieve your goals?

Rashaun: Time management skills, definitely.

Rashaun CLECLE: Have you thought about what you want to achieve after getting your degree?

Rashaun: I hope to influence the world for the people who are struggling and hopefully better the world in the process of doing this.

CLE: What has allowed you to be so successful at CLE and college?

Ryan: The ability to be myself and express how I feel in the moment of the situation at hand.

CLE: Anyone who knows you recognizes your impeccable style. Where do you go to get all your great T-shirts, socks, etc.?

Rashaun: Any place that sells great shirts. But, the key is to wear your clothes with confidence and determination. You never know who you will meet in the future, so you must be prepared with the best that you can get a hold of.
