The most challenging thing to explain to people is—what is CLE?

We’re not a school. We’re not just a living community. And we’re not a job placement site. So, what are we? At College Living Experience (CLE), we are a community—a network of college-age students, dedicated educators, inspiring coaches, and unwavering supporters from diverse backgrounds—committed to one goal: empowering neurodiverse young adults to take charge of their education or career while building meaningful, independent lives.

CLE is designed to be a temporary but transformative part of young adults’ lives, helping them bridge the gap from living at home to pursuing higher education and into adulthood. Our focus isn’t just on the present—we have the long game in mind. We help students and their families consider important questions: What do you want life after college to look like? What type of education or career path is right for you? Where do you want to live? What communities do you want to be involved in? What relationships do you want to have?

Simply put, we coach and walk alongside newly independent adults as they pursue their goals and work toward a positive quality of life. We’re here to invest in their success—both now and in the future.

Since 2007, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the CLE team craft deeply personalized educational experiences that have empowered hundreds of students and their families. For many students, CLE marks their first steps toward independence—a journey building a life uniquely their own.

I’ve also witnessed far too many students spend years in learning environments that don’t fully align with their needs. At CLE, we strive to do things differently. Our eight locations are strategically placed at the heart of educational and career opportunities where students experience something powerful they may not have previously felt: choice. Choice means each student has the chance to find the path that truly fits them, stepping into an environment where they can learn and thrive academically, socially, and personally.

At CLE, we offer more than education—we offer choice, empowerment, and the freedom to shape their future in a supportive environment.
