Victoria styling hairBeauty School came to me as an opportunity to get a fresh start at something new. I went in with hardly any expectations. Now that I am close to graduating and getting my license in Cosmetology, I can say it has been the best and most colorful experience I have ever had!

Beauty School has taught me to work very hard, always challenge myself to do my best and always go the extra mile to make my clients happy.

What I have enjoyed the most about doing hair is meeting new people, and helping them feel and look beautiful. Hairstyling is an important aspect of fashion because it sets the trends on how we can express ourselves by the way we choose to color and style our hair. Whether one chooses to go “au natural”, or choose a fantasy color to make a statement, it is about who we are and what makes us feel good and beautiful.

Here are my insights on the hair trends for 2017, be daring and see if there is one you would like to try!

Metallics

Styling hair - metallics

Summer is the perfect time to try this hot summer trend! You can have just a few streaks, or go full-on head. Make sure you go to a master colorist, as these shades are a “do not try at home” color job.

Glow in the Dark

Styling hair - glow in the darkThis is truly a stand out statement trend! Your tresses will literally glow in the dark when the lights are turned off and you will certainly stand out of the crowd! Colors in either single color gradients such as neon orange to yellow, to black light spectacles that push all boundaries in hair color. To see this trend in all its beauty click on the link below:

Peek A Boo’s

Styling hair - peek-a-boo's

This is the perfect hair trend for the client that wants adventure but cannot compromise with having too much color. The color is applied on underneath hair sections and usually in the back. Fun colors like Scruples Purple, Fiery Coral, Passion Pink, or a rainbow mix will be applied only on these strands. When the client pulls their hair up they will be visible at the nape, and when hair is loose the vibrant color strands will accentuate the hair from underneath for a fun, subtle, and personalized color effect.

Beach Soft Waves with a Flat Iron

Do you like the way your hair looks after a day at the beach? Well, I have the perfect solution! Let your “beach look” become a reality by curling your hair using a flat iron! On dry clean hair apply a heat protector or Moroccan Oil from mid shaft down to the ends. Set your flat iron at a high temperature and in the meantime begin sectioning your hair with clips. Once your hair is sectioned, run the flat iron through each strand, the idea is to turn the flat iron inward as you pull on the strand and release before it gets to the end.

Wrap the hair strands in different directions so that they won’t clump together. Hair underneath should be wrapped on the iron going inward. Once all your head is complete run your fingers through to fluff up, and use a setting spray for shine and hold.

Whichever trend you choose to try out this year, be daring and remember… it’s only hair and it will grow out again!
