Thank you for taking the time to look around the CLE Monterey page!
My name is Karlie Driscoll and I’m the Director of CLE Monterey. Along with a dynamic team of dedicated and passionate professionals I want to welcome you to our Center and provide you with some information regarding the CLE Monterey community—a place many of us refer to a “second-home.”
CLE Monterey is a one of a kind community where students have the opportunity to dwell within a bucolic community with northern California charm. Although typically deemed a travel hot spot, Monterey is a tight knit community creating the perfect setting for so many CLE students. From hiking to whale watching, art museums to a world renowned aquarium, sprawling beaches and national and state parks filled with CA redwoods, the options are endless and the pace is exactly what you would expect from a coastal community. Simply put, Monterey and it’s surrounding neighborhoods are nothing short of majestic!
Being such a small community, students enjoy the seaside setting where it’s easy to navigate around the town and participate in so much that the city has to offer. Many of our students are committed to being active members of the community through active volunteering at various sites including but not limited to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Watershed Project at CSUMB, the Salvation Army, the local YMCA and pet rescue organizations.
Look around and let us know if you have any questions. To set the mood though of this virtual tour, you might want to listen to the sound of waves crashing in the sea. Welcome to Northern California’s little piece of paradise.
