College Living Experience supports young adults with varying exceptionalities to prepare for life as independent adults. The CLE Program includes educational support services, training in independent living skills and social skills, and support services for transitioning into the workforce.
Young adults with autism, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy and other special needs can successfully transition to independent adulthood with tailored support provided by CLE.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for assessing skills, abilities, and comprehension levels of special needs students and providing appropriate instruction and guidance to assure student success in performing independent living functions.
As an ILS Instructor you are accountable for students’ overall development of skills necessary for activities of daily living. This position is responsible for assisting in assessing individual student functioning levels and providing direct instruction across settings and areas of ILS instruction as outlined in the ILS inventory, including but not limited to: health & wellness; personal appearance & hygiene; emergency and safety skills; food management, budgeting and financial organization; housekeeping; housing; transportation; community integration; and legal rights. This position requires both individual and group instruction.
