Jobs. You need one, you want one, you lost one, you are changing one, you dislike the one you have, or your struggling to maintain the one you have. One way or another, we can all relate.
Most of our students are in one stage or another of career planning. The “how-to” of career management in today’s job market requires more than a simple resume and a handshake. In order to succeed at career management, one must have extra tenacity, patience and be willing to work hard.
The CLE Career Development Program helps students with autism spectrum disorders, Asperger’s syndrome, non-verbal learning disorders and other learning disabilities pursue post-secondary education, goals, and experience related to employment. In partnership with local businesses, CLE Career Development students work gain to experience that will lead to independent adult life.
Within the constantly changing work environment, CLE Career Development Supports focus on enabling each student to establish the skills needed for meaningful employment. Our supports work to accelerate the acquisition of skills, interests, work habits, and abilities while students work to develop and enhance the skill sets necessary for viable employment. From day one, the CLE team designs Career Development supports to be exactly that, a resource to assist each young adult in the creation of an individualized employment path. Extensive services include measurement and personal inventories, job coaching, instruction in hard and soft skills, support in building a portfolio, job searching, and education in community awareness.
We work in partnership with each young adult to develop their personal skill set that creates a satisfying life within the constantly changing work environment. Acquiring skills, identifying interests, staying true to one’s beliefs & values, recognizing habits and adapting accordingly will all have an impact on one’s success in their environment.
From Pre-employment to sustaining employment, the CLE team is there every step of the way.
